From gentle pathana walks to challenging summit camps — find the Knuckles trail that fits you.

The Knuckles Conservation Forest is one of Sri Lanka's most diverse and rewarding hiking destinations. Stretching across 155 square kilometres of UNESCO World Heritage wilderness, the range offers everything from gentle grassland walks to challenging multi-day summit treks.

1. Corbett's Gap to Pitawala Pathana (Easy, 3km) — The most accessible entry point into the Knuckles, this trail starts at Corbett's Gap and traverses the famous golden pathana grasslands. Ideal for first-timers and families.

2. Riverston Peak (Easy–Moderate, 6km) — A popular day hike with panoramic views across the entire Knuckles range. The trailhead is easy to reach from Matale, making this a great introductory experience.

3. Mini World's End via Knuckles village (Moderate, 8km) — This route passes through traditional Knuckles village communities before reaching a breathtaking escarpment with a 600m sheer drop into the valley below.

4. Meemure Trek via Lakegala (Moderate–Challenging, 12km) — Combining a visit to the remote Meemure village with the iconic Lakegala rock scramble, this overnight trip is one of our most-loved adventures.

5. Knuckles Summit Trek (Challenging, 2N 3D) — The ultimate Knuckles experience: three days deep in the conservation forest, camping wild at altitude, and summiting the highest points of the range. Not for the faint-hearted.

No matter your fitness level, the Knuckles has a trail for you. Our guides have extensive local knowledge of every route and are passionate about sharing the hidden gems of this extraordinary landscape.
